What Whisperline stores locally

Your media files. Your generated transcripts. The licence key you pasted in. All of this lives on your machine in the app's data directory — Whisperline doesn't sync it anywhere.

What gets sent off-device

To transcribe a file, the app uploads the audio to AssemblyAI (our transcription provider) over TLS. AssemblyAI processes the file, returns the transcript, then deletes the upload within 24 hours per their data handling policy. The original file on your machine is untouched.

Telemetry

Off by default. Always opt-in. If enabled, we collect coarse usage stats (app launches, file count per session, crash reports) — no file content, no transcript content, no licence key.

Marketing site cookies

This site doesn't set cookies, doesn't run analytics scripts, and doesn't fingerprint visitors. Server logs (IP + user-agent) are retained for 14 days for abuse detection only.
